Election Statement as submitted & certified by the candidate

I offer the Council 12 years of practical experience in structural engineering, technical management, construction management and multidisciplinary design coordination. My work on high-rise buildings, transport infrastructure, power projects and engineering consultancy assignments has required me to connect sound engineering judgement with quality, safety, programme, cost and stakeholder needs.

As a Chartered Civil Engineer, I would bring a balanced perspective from design offices, construction sites and project leadership roles in Sri Lanka and overseas. I am especially interested in strengthening the link between professional standards and day-to-day engineering practice, encouraging knowledge sharing across disciplines, and supporting young engineers as they develop technical competence and professional confidence.

If elected, I will listen carefully to members, contribute constructively to Council discussions, and support practical initiatives that promote ethics, competence, innovation and public confidence in engineering. I will work collaboratively to increase the visibility of the profession, create opportunities for member participation and continuous learning, and ensure that the Institution remains responsive to the changing needs of engineers and society.
